One of my absolute favorite things is when couples weave personal elements into their session. For Morgen and Josiah, this looked like spending an evening rowing around on the family property where they are building their forever home in Georgia. Land they have inherited, chosen to build their life around, and raise their two sweet babies on. Land that will carry their legacy. The key couple photoshoot idea for you and your love is to weave personal elements into your session that reflects you and tells your story.
When it started to rain, we didn’t race for cover. We embraced the moment and allowed the droplets to cascade down onto us as the sky began to turn into brilliant shades of gold all above us. When the rain slowed and the perfect rainbow appeared, we rowed with all our might to turn the boat… But it slipped away as quickly as it appeared, before we were even able to capture the moment on camera. It was meant to be carried in our memories instead. And at the end of the session, Morgen and Josiah decided spontaneously that they wanted to leap off the end of the dock and into the water! Which turned out to be some of my favorite photos from the entire evening. It wasn’t even planned. But it felt like the perfect ending to a perfect night!
Images become so much more than just a pretty photograph when they are personal to you. They start to tell a story. They reveal something raw and honest and beautiful. We connect to imagery like this. Not because it’s visually “perfect”, but because it’s real. These photos feel real to me. As if they are alive and actively telling the story of the life, love, and marriage that these two have built together. I hope they evoke the same emotion in you.

Invite me into the safe haven of your home to document you and your love in the sacred rituals of morning coffee. Bring me along as you hike the familiar switchbacks of your favorite trail to camp at the spot where he proposed. Let’s walk the property of your childhood home and let the memories unfold into stories of who you were to who you’ve become.
Let’s stop perpetuating the lie that photos need to be “picture perfect,” and start embracing their ability to show the beauty of our authentic lives.
Let me join you. Let me help to tell your stories.

“I can’t say enough great things about Christina!
We’ve had photos done before but we’ve never had such a comfortable, enjoyable experience during a photo shoot as we had with her. She’s easy going, doesn’t make you feel awkward or uncomfortable at all, and really knows how to capture the feeling and emotion in a moment. We were blown away by the quality of the photos, my husband even said they looked like stills from a movie.
Also Christina was great at communicating and answering all our questions.
If you want pictures that feel alive when you look at them then she is the photographer for you.”
